Stress Hair Loss

The life we live in the 21st century is a fast one and a stressful one and the stress that people suffer has some unwanted effects on our bodies.  Some side effects of stress are depression, anxiety, panic disorder, high blood pressure and of course stress hair loss.

You may experience hair loss when you are going through a particularly stressful time in your life and when you come out the other side and the stress is reduced then your hair loss should stop and hair growth return to normal.  For some people though, stress is often ongoing, particularly if they just don’t know how to handle every day type stress, and then the hair loss issue may continue long term.

1. Exercise.  I know it’s an answer to most problems right!  But the fact is, that stress causes a lot of problems and regular exercise can reduce stress.  Even just a 10 minute walk every day is enough to help your body deal with any stress.  Exercise helps to clear your mind and give you a break from the stress you are dealing with.

2. Eat a healthy diet.  Stress is also much harder for your body to deal with if your body isn’t receiving the right amount of vitamins and minerals.  If you have a good, healthy diet you will be surprised at how much better you deal with stress.  A good, healthy diet is also essential for good hair growth.

3.  Sleep.  An adult should be having around 8 hours of sleep every night.  You may notice that children tend to be more grumpy and moody when they don’t get enough sleep, well adults aren’t any different.  If you aren’t getting enough sleep then it does affect your moods and as such makes things much more stressful than they really are.

4. Drink a lot of water.  Water is another one that is suggested for many ailments and it is also good for reducing stress.  Being dehydrated is the cause of many problems and one of them is feeling tired and run down.  Dehydration will also cause headaches,   and so drinking the required 6 to 8 glasses of water a day will give you more energy, help reduce or eliminate headaches and enable you to deal with stress more effectively.

5. Meditation.  There are many people who swear by meditation for keeping their lives relaxed and stress free.  Just 10 to 15 minutes a day of meditation can make a big difference in your life by helping to relieve the pressures of life.

Stress can cause many health problems in your life, so learn to deal with stress more effectively and you will feel much healthier in general and you will also eliminate the stress hair loss problem.
